First off, you all remember last August and September when I was in panic meltdown mode thinking I had carpal tunnel syndrome, then tendonitis, then found out I had intersection syndrome, which I had never heard of in my life, but that’s pretty much how I roll. I get things no one outside of the medical profession even know exist. (See also: My chronic uvulitis, which I actually haven’t had in a couple years, nor have I had strep throat, and my last sinus infection was quite some time ago. Maybe my nasal/throat issues are finally gone? I still need to consider that tonsillectomy…)
Well… I am happy to report that I know for sure that was absolutely caused by the job I was doing, and the consistent, repetitive, and limited motions that my hands and wrists were going through. I know this because now I don’t have any of those problems.
Sometimes at night my wrists still feel a little stiff, or… not exactly stiff, but I feel like I have to shake them out a lot. I blame that on my laptop, and the way my wrists rest off the edge. I will probably start sleeping with the braces on again.
Secondly, to those of you that have heard me whine about the cough I’ve had since November. Well… just before Christmas the doc at the Immediate Care told me I have bronchitis, gave me the antibiotics, and it started to go away…. Then it came back. I really didn’t feel like going back there (it’s considered an emergency room visit, so the co-pay is just not worth it), so I finally managed to get a new primary general internist, who I saw on Monday. She’s pretty damn cool, and informed me that this cough that’s going around, it’s not really bronchitis, it’s just the closest diagnosis they have. Bronchitis and pneumonia. So people are getting diagnosed with either one or the other…. But the cough itself is bringing on reactive airway disease for people. To simplify that, it’s asthma-like symptoms without actually being asthma. So… she gave me a z-pack to knock out the bronchial issue, and a corticosteroid to make the reactive cough stop. Which as I type this, I just remembered I forgot to take my lunch dose. Pause.
Anyway, on to the character stuff:
Senia: Just turned 60. Holy balls. I also finally just found a woman who actually looks like an older Rosario Dawson. It’s… It’s amazing. When I saw her I thought it was Dawson in a movie role. So I saved a bunch of those, but I might wait about 5-10 popoyears until I use them. But her turning 60 isn’t going as well as you’d expect, given her nonchalance at turning 50. It’s as if turning 60 made her finally realize that she already had turned 50. Troy keeps trying to throw her a party at work, and she keeps threatening to fire and disown him. She's putting more effort into her memoir, and has just gotten to the start of The Urban Legacy.
Troy: Has some wonderfully happy news that he can’t wait to share with the world. It’s the one thing he thought he would never have, and had come to accept that. Now he’s literally going to have everything he ever wanted, and a snarky comment from his brother has him panicking over whether he can balance it all.
Parker: Just returned to work after taking an extended paternity leave to take care of Taylor while Chloe got things up and running for her new bakery. He’s already stressed out enough as it is, now he just found out some news about what his life is going to be like within the next year and it’s causing even more.
Madalynne: Finally found herself again, independent of what she is to someone else. And now she's happily in like. Way too early for her to start throwing the L word around, and despite her renewed “just live, don’t think” mantra about life, it’s not going to be easy for her to let herself feel that way about anyone. Seth has his work cut out from him there. As they navigate their way through this new relationship, she keeps realizing how intertwined her life was with Chris and Sebastian, how even little, seemingly insignificant things hold so many memories, but she’s learning not to let those things interfere with what she and Seth could have.
So... that's all for now. Happy RPing!
