All the stuff that I was busy doing prep for in the past couple weeks, is all happening.
So while the Academy of Business stuff is done (in terms of my selecting the students for the new class, there are still a million other things to do.
Next month I start collecting nominations for the student recognition dinner, and universal prek applications are made public, so it’s going to be question after self-explanatory question throughout the month.
April is just.. it might as well not exist, for all the spare time we’re gonna have. The first half of the month is pre-test prep work on the back end for us for ELA and Math: sorting, getting the teachers together that will score the tests, send them for training, the answer sheets come pre-filled with student name, so we sort them out to the schools, then the scoring booklets come, we have to account for them going to the right teachers, then the kids actually take the ELA test. During the week they take ELA, we’re doing all the prep for Math- sorting, training etc. And after each test, we have to sort again, put question labels in place (scorers only score certain questions, they write the scores for the questions they scored in the appropriate place), make sure each scorer has a roughly equal amount of tests. THEN we box everything up and it sits here in my space for a few weeks, during which time we’re pulling last year’s test booklets out of storage to send them for destruction, so we can place all the current year into storage.
So that’s April - and during all that, I also have universal prek acceptance and placement stuff to do. May is just the student recognition dinner and the Class of 2016 Academy of Business “graduation” so that’s not too bad.
June is just crazy because it's the end of the year, and then we’re in a rush to order stuff for all the schools to use up their budget, and they don’t have a list until mid-June. Anything not spent by July 1 is lost.
Long story short: Next couple months, I probably won’t be around much during the day. When I'm on during the day, it's during lulls at work, and since there probably won't be many of those, I won't be on. Even if I do log in, there’s a good chance I’ll have to put the phone down before I can even do anything, so I’ll show as online even though I’m not. The majority of anything I do will be at night, like it has been the past few weeks, but whole days might also pass without me making it on at all.
So… onto the characters!
- Senia: Enjoying life. The new minister of ed, she’s working on one unified school system, even though she feels like some people are fighting her every step of the way.
- Natalia: Finally indulged in something she’s been avoiding for almost twenty years. And frankly, she only feels about a third as guilty about it as she should.
- Chelsea: Just cruising through life.
- Troy: Also cruising through life.
- Parker: Thinking about making changes. And expanding things.
- Maddi: On tour, missing her kiddos and her husband, but also looking forward to the next tour!
- Olivia: Has made things official with Malachi.
- Logan: Waiting on the next season of the PFL.
- Amelia: Has temporarily joined pop group Gossip Girl.
- Nate: He’s back! He just got the news though about Astrid and Gabe. Because, you know, pop-timelines, so it just happened. He's got a new weebly page (because I'd created his on a second account, the one I'd created Richard and Oliver's site with, and I have no idea what email address I used).
