Dear rest of America,
Pay close attention to the city of Buffalo...while people would be LOSING THEIR EVERLOVING MINDS anywhere else in the country, Buffalonians will be turning the wall of snow that blocks their front doorway into backup fridges and they'll be sledding off their roofs when they're not shoveling the snow off to keep the roof from collapsing beneath the weight...
But what they won't be doing is panicking.
They won't be looting and turning into nasty neighbors.
In fact, they'll do quite the opposite.
They'll be digging each other out while telling stories about nastier storms and tougher situations.
They'll be checking on their senior adult neighbors to make sure they're okay.
They'll be sharing their food, their generators, and their smiles 'cause this will be another great story to tell once the digging is done.
There's no place in the world I'd rather be in a national emergency than with the ever tough but always neighborly people of Buffalo.
And then videos from this guy, who's done videos for a few of the bands around town for which I am a band-aid (not a groupie). This is about 2 towns over from me.
In this first video, you'll see how quickly snow fell in just a few hours. To those of you I was talking to around 1:00 am Monday night, just as we were finishing up DotD stuff... I think it was Kara who said she could still see the cars. Well... 5 hours later, that wasn't the case.
Nov 20 Update: Nope. The game will not be held here. No word yet on where it will be.
We are now on snow day #3. It is so bad that Kara and I can barely bounce between each other's places. This is obviously not a pic of our place, but this basically how our doors are. We can't even get around that! I'm not really complaining, per se, just marveling at it. It's been perfect for me, because I just had a new mattress set delivered on Monday, and I've been able to lay around in it ever since. It's been the most perfect timing.
Anyway, back to the original posting. I've added some videos and new photos to the end.
