I get this pain that starts dead in the center of my wrist and shoots up my arm, maybe about half-way to my elbow. Now, I don't have any of the numbness or tingling that is usually associated with CTS, so, I don't know.
This pain also came on very suddenly today, so it could be a strain, a sprain, or tendonitis. Lately when I'm on my laptop late at night, I've been making it a bad habit to lay on my stomach, propping up my my elbows, which puts my shoulders into horrible posture and my wrists at a not-really-very-ideal angle. I know, it's terrible, and I'm hoping that it's related. I really can't be dealing with CTS surgery or treatment right now.
I have also noticed that I hold my hand at an awkward angle when using the number pad at work. Because I have a pen in hand at the time, I'm using mostly my ring and pinky fingers to type the numbers, and in the meantime pressing my wrist to the desk.
Ughhh I'm gonna see if I can leave work early today and get in to the immediate care. Or if I should just diagnose myself and get a wrist splint and take ibuprofen.
Let's face it, that's probably exactly what I'll do.
